Walking is a natural physical activity for the body. Walking, for me, is an exercise that offers many benefits. It allows me to find serenity. In addition to short distance back and forth to work, I also like to travel long distances. Presently, the culture of long walks is widespread in Europe and North America. During the week of Easter, I intend to take a trip to Ottawa to Montreal by foot. This is a distance of about 200 km. I want to meet this challenge within four days.
My departure is scheduled from my work on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 125 Sussex dr. in Ottawa, , and my arrival planned for Sunday, April 20, 2014 at the Central Station in Montreal where I will return to Ottawa by train.
I am taking on this challenge for several reason, and hope that it may inspire young people to engage in physical activity. I am extending an invitation to anyone who would like to join me, even a few kilometers would be welcome. My trip details will be disclosed soon.
Next year, I would like to meet many long distance walkers for another challenge and route. It is an activity that I intend to perform each year. If you have any question please send to: info@marcheenavant.com for more details. Thank you and let started the walk! Kossi Agbovi, Coordinator of the project Marche en avant.
My V i s i o n is: Make a positive contribution to people's lives in terms of their health and general well-being in both the short term and long term, including fabulous, enjoyable and lasting memories through Walking.
